As one of the founders of Food Tech, Inc., Mike contributes extensive knowledge and experience to the organization. He works closely with business development, facility planning, engineering, and program management staff to coordinate pre-construction work and oversee project implementation.

Collaborating with owners in the planning phase, Mike recommends the most cost-effective, energy-efficient, and productive systems, equipment, and building materials. Mike then works with the Program Manager to monitor schedule, budget, and quality through project completion to help ensure outstanding customer service.

Expertise

Mike brings more than 30 years of experience in food and beverage facility engineering and construction. He began his career as a field technician in the metro New York area installing thermal insulation and refrigeration systems for cold storage and food process applications. He then held multiple management positions in design-build firms, before founding Food Tech in 1997.

Having designed and built millions of square feet of food process plants and cold storage facilities, Mike is well-versed in facility sizing, material handling design, process programming, master site planning, value engineering, estimating, scheduling, cold storage insulation design, hygienic food-safe design, and concrete and steel building construction. He has experience with a vast breadth of facilities including highly-specialized process plants, and systems such as industrial refrigeration, mechanical/electrical/plumbing, and automated storage and retrieval.

Mike received his Bachelor of Arts from University of Redlands and completed a Carpenter Apprentice program. He is an expert in food and beverage plant design that is compliant with the USDA, FDA, FSMA, HACCP and BRC protocols.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies certified, Mike is a licensed Design/Builder, Construction Manager, and General Contractor is approved for licensing in any state with an “Unlimited” classification for building type, size, or contract value.
